Pronounced tah-kara lee-mu-nah, the name of the trail is taken from palawa kani and refers to the limuna (Sheoak tree) which are endemic to the Bedlam Walls Reserve.
The trail is informed by research undertaken by Aboriginal Cultural Practitioners Theresa Sainty and Zoe Rimmer, to promote the rich Aboriginal cultural heritage of the area. There are several interpretation points throughout the walk that respond to site and story. Story panels were designed to have minimal impact on living areas, and are supported by sculptural elements that harness the ephemeral qualities of water, fire and air. A gathering place in the form of a stingray references the night sky and features a large central fire pit with artwork by Allen Mansell. Visitors can also hear palawa kani spoken by Theresa Sainty via QR codes on the panels.
