The Mathew Jones / Simon Starling catalogue was produced to accompany the MCA Level 4 exhibition curated by Russell Storer. The brief was to come up with a flexible design for a catalogue and marketing materials, that would give the 2 artists equal representation and be sympathetic to both artists’ work.
The catalogue was designed so that the artists’ works were divided by a central area dedicated to essays and biographies. It featured a reversible dust jacket (allowing either artist to feature on the front cover) that also served as a poster and flyer.
