Field of Poppies 2019
This sculpture commemorates the Centenary of Anzac 2014-2018. Flanders poppies were among the first plants to bloom in the churned soils of soldiers’ graves in France and Belgium during the First World War. On ANZAC Day (25 April) and Remembrance Day (11 November) poppies are often worn as a symbol of respect, gratitude and in memory of all servicemen and women killed in all conflicts. There are nine poppies in this sculpture to represent each Australian state and territory, and New Zealand.

Lest we forget.
